Milestones

Feel a sudden release after my part in the presentation ends today, though all of us in the team are still on the stage. It sounds an official ending for my study journey, so far as concerned in my plan. Even there is an e-portfolio waiting me to finish it right now, I couldn't concentrate well because there are too much joy and thoughts, so I let myself at least have a stop here in this remarkable day before enjoying my REALLY LAST PIECE of work in LJMU.

Study, education. That's the main point ever since my parent sent me to nursery at the age of 2. They had been putting more care to me on education as they were willing to spend more on this expensive nursery (during that time) because of its good reputation for quality teaching method. The most memory I have in this nursery is the sand and playground, besides my lovely Miss Yap and an Indian teacher (whom I'd forgotten her name XD). I remember the porridge and biscuits served to us sitting on the small low bench during lunch time; and my lovely friends who shared the innocent time with me during my chilhood, some of whom are still in the fb list, Gary, Jason... though not that close bond as 20 years back. I believe this is where I started exposed to an official eduction in the institution, with colouring and geometry taking up most of the 2 years spent. But here is where I developed unconciously...

My another 3 years pre-school was in a kintergarden same with my sis. My memory, hum... a bit shamful, the first I think of is being a bully, =( I remembered I was so damn bad by asking a girl who sit on the swings to go away because my friend complained that she wanted to sit... oh gosh, how bad I was, I wish I can have an appology for her right now... so so remorseful... Some clumsy moment as well. Falling down during lunch hour and broke my chin, with a scar left of 7 stitches. I remembered the Indian teacher who was eating nasi lemak at that time immediately used her tissue with sambal stain to put under my broken and bleeding chin when she nervously saw me fell down. Aiks.... so hot !!! Haha, only if my sensor works that time, but somehow the numb made me feel nothing at all~ too bad... Spending my time here until the age of 6, this was the another milestone marking end for my pre-school life.

Now come Pei Chai, my lovely primary school. 陈老师,卢老师,絡老师... they are my form teacher for these 6 years education, together with other very nice teachers, Cikgu Yap, Miss Loh, 潘老师, Madam Quah, 李老师, whom I appreciate a lot... In my memory, none of them are bad, really... Don't even can think of someone with bad experience. The last year was the most discipline and happy year, because I started to take up more roles in prefect job, which I could enjoy the 15-minute earlier rest hour every day, with priority to buy chu cheong fun and wantan every Friday and could go duty with my best friend Elaine... wahahaha.. There are something else besides knowledge gained, which is the RESPONSIBILITY accounted is something people entrusted on you and you should do your best to be responsible for it.

My next page of education journey is somehow still with many fresh memories. The SMKAP secondary school, a gangster school which detered many primary school-leavers during my time. However, never judge a book before reading it. I never regret of entering that school because I have fantastic secondary school life with lots of good teachers and fun experience, without even 1 disturbance from the so-called naughty students in this school. These years was a process of intensifying technical knowlege besides lots of extra-curricular activities which made me learnt the way of leading and working in a team.

My 4 years tertiary education in TAR College ends by January 2010. That's a few months back. The moment I treasure is meeting a gang of best buddy, funny, humourous friends who work hard, play even harder... I was very much influenced by this gang to go out of my seriousness and my remoteness. They are best friend listening to voices, though 3 8 3 8 all the time, but we hate stabbing back. That's why I enjoyed very much living in this gang because I hate gossips. We talked the problem face to face, accept and forgive all the time. Learning was much dependant on oneself. Though notes always provided, but the spoon feeding process getting lesser and lesser especially during the last year in Advanced Diploma. Reseach, a really good process which personally I think is the best way of learning. Learn for knowledge and understanding. When get to understand something, interest will automatically find its way to us and intensify the enthusiasm. Undoubtedly, this journey is where I find all sorts of emotional up and down when dealing with different attitude of members. That makes me sometimes confused with work and friendship. Rethinking.... shouldn't be so stubborn and making life so complicated. After all, brevity of life makes it a point to possibly fill it with +ve ions, and not something tiny and -ve like this... not worth~

Papa and mama had been giving me the best ever that they can afford. I appreciate from deep down inside my heart though they seems blaming themselves all the time for couldn't afford me better education. I just want to tell them that I am the luckiest girl in this world. I love the way you planned for my life. For every decision and opinion you've been giving all these times were the best for me. I enjoyed very much the free educations earned up to uni life. I couldn't have done so if I was not thought of what is hardship and endless support from a warm family. Love you papa and mama.. Love you too sunche and linlin... without encouragement and support from all of you, I wouldn't be able to make my move up to here. ♥♥♥

Food. Satisfation. Mummy

Tonite was a great great night. I love the feeling of getting involved 'working' with a group of food lovers to work out tonight's dinner with pasar malam theme. I know they love food just like my family do, no matter how much it costs, how far it goes, they just insisted on buying all the necessary materials needed to come out with delicious food... end up all the taste of 'Malaysia' I miss so much during these 2 months have just been cured with plenty of food... pan mee, sambal udang kering, popia, grilled chicken wings and the lovely ABC soup.

The food are superb. The people are even awesome. Jasmine, Sieu Kit, Fung Yee, Chin Sui, King Fung, Samantha, Yi Ting, Edmund.... all of them are so committed on preparing the dinner and put in their heart, somemore they are really well-experienced in cooking which I have very much to learn from them.

Soup and pork mince for pan mee

The flour and egg dough before it's cooked and becomes pan mee

Spring roll with minced pork, carrot, mushroom, fungus and dried shrimp

Grilled chicken wings

ABC soup

Sambal udang kering

Food ready to serve!!!!

Food do give me satisfaction and cure misses for home food. But someone keep appearing on my mind tonight is my mummy, starting from the flaming heat feels on my fingers when cutting chilies for sambal. I never wonder the heat of chilies can be so immense when you dip your fingers among the chilies for about 20 minutes. It's totally a different pain from the usual  pain I feel when cutting one or two for serving food, coz the heat of chilies fade off in minutes. Not like now, hours, and still it's pain like hell, like dipping fingers into a hot pot of oil!!!

My mum should have feel this pain hundred times, since she will prepare the home blend sambal very often to keep her daughter, me, a happy appetite and will eat more so that I'm not hungry. Especially her sambal eggs, a typical dish I fancy most that will appear on the dining table everytime I go back from KL. I remembered she complained about the chilies heat which make her fingers like burning once, but I do not take it seriously as I thought it was just a small case and will be ok in minutes. Apparently she stopped mumbling not becuase she doesn't feel it anymore, just that she endured it with her motherly nature... hmm.. only being remorseful when I finally feel the same pain... really not a good daughter...

Mummy, I miss you...♥♥♥♥

Present for Brahmi

Yesterday was a day I gave myself some free air after spending whole week inside my room for assignment. Haha, but turned up to be a grocery-procurement day... out from bank to Home Bargain, China Town, Sugarcane, Tesco, fruit stall... pack by pack of groceries and instant noodles...

Heavy + exhausted especially when it started to rain...

Ha, today's spot light will be on a present from Sugarcane, a new shop, I assume (coz I just noticed it for the first time) at Bold Street with lots and variety of candies... it attracted me to go inside for a 'smell'.... really happy when entering Sugarcane and saw children and kidults and even old aunty uncle spreading the shop for candies and souries... some even called their friend and asked happily what flavour they would want..

I spotted a candy and think of my Brahmi, sure he'll love it as his toy collection... Since he miss me so much, should buy a present for him, as I'd promised before leaving for UK.

Gumball machine
It's really fun to spin the 'TURN' and see gumball of different flavour dropping out!!!

Today's Horoscope

Sometimes it's quite funny to read the horoscope. When it hits the current situation of which you're facing, you'll be amazed by talking to yourself and wondered: How come it's so accurate?

Probably it's just a way of people mind fits into the words directed... no matter how, the one appearing in my mind while reading today's horoscope is Jas... very good friend, no.. a very good 'aunty' I know better and closer in these days... =D

A Walk to Remember

Spending my 8th weekend in Liverpool with pleasant 'starters'. After making myself breakfast with latte, I sat down inside my room and played a movie recommeded by Jo Lin - A Walk to Remember. It was an old movie back in 2002, starred by Shane West and Mandy Moore based on a 1999 romance novel with the same name.

After all, it is really an amazing love story with more than just love. Tears rolling down for the love and hardship Jamie (Mandy) and Landon (Shane) had endure. I keen on how Jamie sees the world. She trusted the destiny God makes for her, she didn't care others' critiques of her nerdness, she forgives with a kind heart, she never blame though she's sick, she thinks God had a bigger plan than she'd for herself, she never asked for love which she think she couldn't afford. She finally met with Landon who is the last miracle of her life, leaving him and her father after a summer marrying him. For Landon, the walk together with Jamie is to be remembered forever. Though she's not by his side, he remembered Jamies told him about the love which needs no words, 'love is like the wind, I can't see it, but I can feel it'... and finally he's motivated by her strength and go for the medical college that is hardly believable by even his own mother. All because of the strength she'd given to him.

A poem which touched many fans of this movie, including me myself  =p... that's when Jamie and Landon read it while they are in the hospital and during wedding in church:

Love is always patient and kind,
It's never jealous.
Love is never boastful or conceited,
It's never rude or selfish.
It does not take defence,
It is not resentful.

Love takes no pleasure in other people sins,
but delights the truth it is ready to excuse, to trust, to hope and
to endure whatever comes

(I particularly like this last part of the poem... ^0^)
Thinking this make me wanna include a music console of Yiruma's collection. Though couldn't find River Flows In You or Kiss the Rain in this console, I will try harder to look for it! Energy boosted now, after having my mind to turn and clean up with some tears... today will be A Day to Remember indeed!!! gonna continue with assignment now since energy full!!! ^^b

Is he certified? Please don't... =(

Is he certified.... oh my gosh!

I thought You are my life-long present for myself for the first time I got my salary...
I thought You are the one accompany me travel all around the world...
I thought You are my eyes capturing all beautiful memories...

I thought You are fine in my pocket when rain soaked...
I thought You are not afraid of water...
I thought You are tough...

but.... in fact...

You are just so delicate to rain...
Even I tried all my ways to dry you up...
Probably I shouldn't switch You on..
I am So Sorry...

My dear ZR3~

Mistakes again, after 2 years

Resuming study life after five months leaving college, today atmosphere was extremely familiar with an incident happened two years back in diploma.

Stubborn, careless, mismanagement of time... all coming back to me.

I'm always the one who compile assignment, gather all pieces, standardise, and print. Today was no exception. I'd stayed up for nights for completing a presentation assignment due in 1 week time, net.. why net? Because I let a week wasteful, and only start my gear on the second week. Though everyone was doing the same thing as I was, others could get things done in time, and that's why I should look into it as my own problem as being a snail, more precisely, a stubborn snail... who wants to make every crawl a beautiful mark to leave behind, yet being so steady and infearful of couldn't reach the final goal.

End up, I clumsily printed on unbinded A4, wasting papers and being unsustainable, which is the most contradict action with the value embedded on my environmental management assignment...

End up, I just managed to print them fresh at 9am when the presentation starts at 9.30am...

End up, I did not managed to give myself a full rehearsal, which probably causing the presentation time exceeding time limits...

End up, in the most panic scene forever, I save only Word file, WITHOUT presentation power point when opened my thumb drive... that was the most most n most embarrass moment ever... embarrass to my team members who had done all their efforts well but having to bear this sickening moment with me on the stage, embarrass to my lecturer who had just brief us yesterday with his extra time on what consists a good presentation - PREPARATION, which I definitely had failed him...

Though there are issues and problems, the day went off calmly without much unwanted impacts. Grade was ok, everyone is satisfied... but all this so-called "lucky" things happen because the God gracious act on not narrowing the situation to a deadly knot, by giving me no pain when running with high heels from my campus back to accommodation to save file and came back on time, and leave me being forgived. He had done it twice, both the situation He let me met with kind lecturers, peers and  team mate who forgive and accept my mistakes.

But a promise to myself and to Your kindness, I'll amend, and hopefully all these experiences counted will be remarkable reminders of not doing the same mistakes, again, hopefully the 2nd mistake is the last.

"Face your past without regret. Handle your present with confidence. Prepare for the future without fear. Keep the faith and drop the fear".

Jasmine quotes me this nice phrase, thanks a lot Jas, you make my day full with hope to do better for tomorrow.

Memorable 2nd July 2010

It's now 1.43am, rain falls exceptionally 'heavy' outside my window. This is the first time I experience it rains like Malaysia, rain drops with 'home-sound' when hit the ground. Other days in Liverpool, rain was mild... light enough to be blown by wind before any lovely melody is composed.

Why I still stay awake? Partially surfing websites... and most importantly today is my dad's birthday... I just used a calculator to come up with my dad age. 2 years ahead he'll be sixty. Dad, you're now that old. XD (Couldn't be listened by him, he wouldn't admit it~)

Hours past the dawn should be the right time to call him and greet him happy birthday. Who knows my call turned up to be the morning alarm to wake him up, miscalculation, hahaha.. though he still blurred when picking up the phone and my mom who was eager to talk to me was the one dominating the call, hope he's happy to receive call from me, daughter who misses you a lot from far away. And I pray so hard today to wish you stay stronger, healthier and happier... hopefully my prayer could be heard in this special day.

Accompanying me now is a gorgeos song Hallelujah from Il Divo, clicking perfectly into my mood~

Rainy night~ nice weather to sleep tight! Good night~

WoW - Week 1

Being listed in Group C, this was the first week I attended the WoW Pilot Programme. It is really a useful and productive programme organised by Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU) specially designed for undergraduates who will soon step out to the real world of work.

Before going further to an interesting piece of information I experienced from today workshop, just a brief introduction of what WoW is all about. WoW stands for 'World of Work'. The WoW Programme is all about giving students a 'value added' higher education experience. All undergraduates have actually acquired the core of knowledge which the course required, and that probably could just satisfy the academic degree. Besides knowledge from the books, the WoW skills are equally important for undergraduates who will soon fight for a placement in their chosen industry. To stand out from the others, or at least being capable to handle job more competently, essential WoW skills are needed, for instances, analysing and problem solving, team working, interpersonal skills, verbal communication, initiative, ICT skills, etc..

What is really matter in the first place to a graduate is actually to understand himself or herself in term of his strength, weaknesses, values, motivators. Though these four aspects seems easily understandable, but they are the fields where most of job seekers found difficulty to fill in the CV. And I'm experiencing it today, really a bit hard to squeeze some words for praising myself... hahaha..so there was this friendly lady who coached us through the process with leading questionnaire and games to find out more about ourselves.

The below is piece of information I found interesting and would like to share for raising criteria out of Self-awareness:

 Figure 1

From Figure 1, choose a shape which you find most appealing. Please take some time to choose the one most appealing to you without referring to the explanation below.

Square

  • Squares are organised, logical, conservative, loyal, analytical, task-oriented. and knowledgeable.

  • Squares will not tolerate sloppy work and need structured settings.

  • Squares believe in following the manual.

  • They live by the 3 Ps: Policies, practices, and procedures.

  • They are data collectors and will not make decisions without a thorough analysis of the data. If your boss is a square, be specific. They need things in writing, preferably with numbers!

  • They have calenders and lists everywhere.

  • They have plan for everyday.

  • They plan A, B, C, D. Why, because they are the most linear thinkers.

  • However, they are not the strongest team players because a square tends to be a loner. Meetingsjust mess up their day.

  • One the positive side, squares are loyal. Squares are loyal.

  • Squares are totally committed to friends and spouses.

  • The motto squares live by is if you want a job done right, then do it yourself.

  • A square is a very left brained and tactical thinker.

  • Sqaures are the most likely shape to work late at the office because they are the hardest workers in the group.

  • But, despite all their work, squares are the slowest to make decisions, because they always need more information.

Triangle

  • The triangle is rooted in thousands of years of history. The symbol itself focuses upward to the sun, to the deity. It is the pyramids. In current times it is the hierarchy in management.

  • Triangles are the ultimate symbol of leadership.

  • Triangles are strong,, decisive people.

  • Triangles are the power shape.

  • Triangles love to tell other shapes what to do.

  • The triangle is a strategic thinker with long-term plan.

  • Male triangles are delegators; female triangles still do everything themselves.

  • The triangle is a left brain linear thinker; however the triangle processes information very quickly. Triangles do everything faster because they wish to get to the point. Triangles are the snap decision makers.

  • Triangles are generally smart people.

  • On the Downside, they tend to be egotistical, into status symbols, and highly opinionated.

  • They are focused and smart.

  • Triangles are the classic leadership type and most likely to be found in the boardroom.

  • However, they are not broad thinkers and tend to be self-oriented instead of open.

  • Motto of the triangleis "I did it my way".
Circle

  • The circle is an ancient symbol. It is the most used shape in religions. Circles are the people who seek harmony.

  • Circles are caretakers, the peacemakers, and the nurtures of the world.

  • Circles simply need to help. They love people with problems!

  • They are the huggers and the smilers.

  • The circles motto is "forget your troubles and just get happy!"

  • Circles are the teachers and office workers who put smiley faces on things.

  • Circles are talkative, self-critical, warm, caring, sensitive people.

  • Circles are real people personsm with lots of friends.

  • Circles love to gossip, but generally not maliciously. It is just that everybody tells them everything!

  • Circles cannot stand conflict.

  • Circles are joiners and often belong to many clubs or organisations.

  • If we consider how circles think, they are both linear and non-linear, left brained and right brained; they can think both styles and are the only shape that is capable of this.

  • Circles combine their thinking styles in a unique way that makes them somewhat intuitive.

  • They have sixth sense when it comes to communicating. Why? Because they can read people. They are the best communicators of all the shapes.
Squiggle

  • Squiggles are creative, witty and impulsive.

  • Squiggles are eccentric. Squiggles don't do well in routine.

  • The squiggle is the only pure right-brained thinker.

  • Brain research states that only 12-15% of people are right brained thinkers, so fewer people are true squiggles that what is claimed.

  • Squiggles get bored easily. They need challenges and freedom. Squiggles love to meet challenges because they enjoy peak experiences.

  • Squiggles are random holistic. They do not like to bother with details.

  • Squiggles are the ones who ask why. They need to know reasons for things.

  • They are strong shape along with the triangles.

  • Lots of the squares are what squiggles want to be.

  • At work, you can recognise the squiggles as the person with the messy office.

  • The squiggle lives in the future.

  • A pure squiggles is as spontaneous as they are fickle.

  • Squiggles are bright and having big ideas and big dreams to match.

  • The squiggles motto is "To dream the impossible dream".

  • Squiggles are the most likely shape to be in a supermarket at midnight.

  • Squiggles are great to have as friends because they are so interesting, however don't count on squiggle.

  • Squiggles are dramatic and flamboyant.
Rectangle

  • First of all, if you are a rectangle, bless you.

  • Secondly, if your spouse is a rectangle, bless you more!

  • The good news is rectangles are generally just passing through on their way to another shape.
  • Rectangles represent a period in life, a changing growing, questioning and unpredictable.
  • Two well documented periods of rectanglism are adolescence and the middle age crisis.
  • Firsts in life will pull out rectangles in us - a first marriage, first child, first job and retirement.
  • A rectangle rarely recognises that they are rectangles. However, you can recognise them by their changes.
  • One day they are rectangle, the next a circle.
  • They try on all shapes.
  • If you have a rectangle boss, you are constantly on your toes trying to figure out which shape they are taking that day.
  • The motto of the rectangle is "I know you think that you understood what I said, but is what I said, what I really meant?"
  • Rectangles are the shape most likely to lose their car in a parking lot.
  • However, rectangles are truly a great shape to be because they will learn more any given situation than any of the other shapes. Why? Because they are so open and searching!

Chilly

He was trembling...
Laying naked in a box outside the telephone booth, there he was, shaking for some warmth he needed desperately. People passing by the street could easily spotted him, patches of black in white, with a tag on his neck. Sometimes he squeezed his head in between the forelegs for keeping the heat that would last for only seconds, which then gone in the rainy and extremely cold day. I am wearing thick clothe and jacket, yet feeling I'd been mistakenly placed inside the freezer. How does he feel right now? Couldn't imagine.

Passing by without him getting out of my mind, I waited my friends buying fruits at stalls, eyes on him. He was still trembling in cold. If not mistaken, the man inside the telephone booth is his owner. I'm thankful at that moment... Just that moment. When I turned around again, the man came out and asked passer by for something, I couldn't hear him. But as he asked one by one passing by him, people ignored his requests. He asked the newspaper vendor for a plastic sheet as shelter, yet being rejected. I sensed something amissed and his eyes on me now. I was afraid to keep staring at him, turned around pretending I was busy with other scenery. If he is asking passer by for money, I am pretty sure now that he is not someone who could afford to give food and warmth to that dog. Messy thought. I am not someone good and brave enough to give a hand to that dog at that moment. I could just think that he is pity, but no action from me... how bad I'm.

Chilly, hope my guess is wrong, you may be the lovely dog of other, with a warm home after I turn my way home.
btw, Chilly would be the dog's name if I afford to take it home today... too bad~

Though I don't have brilliant mind to play sudoko or other difficult puzzle game, but recently has been addicted to play Hashi (数桥)... a very nice game using simple logic. Allocate some time to let my left brain stay active, at the same time try to challenge myself to solve Hashi of different degree of difficulties seems to be real fun time~

Found a bravo website which requires FOC registration, and you can play all sorts of picture or number logic puzzles once registered as member.

Gifted day

A gifted day.
My plan goes with nice end even with some little interference in the midst. As the loan application for furthering study drag on unsettled for weeks, I've been going back Kuantan almost every recent weekends. Finding authorised person to be witness issn't something easy, as many of the authorised personnel such as commisioner of oath or grade A government servant wouldn't willing to bear the responsibility as a witness for loan application, especially when KOJADI is a seldom heard of coperation operates under MCA. Though 'hitting nails' is so time and effort consuming, I did gain something. As the commisioner of oath couldn't sign for me, a kind Malay uncle suggested me to go to the Pejabat Daerah dan Tanah (Land office) to seek for Penghulu's help. There we go... My mom and I walked to the next building and looked for Penghulu. Hit nail again. Penghulu was off from office today. But the kind receptionist suggested us to look for the penolong pegawai daerah. He is super duper nice... praise him for being sincere and kind in lending his hand to be witness. First I gain by saving money. I need not pay a cent. If the 9 pages of documents to be signed by commissioner of oath in the court, it would cost me RM 36. Next, gain a nice phrase of words of wisdom from daddy: be patient in doing everything you need to do when you couldn't opt to escape it. Probably today these words digest better in my mind as I truly feel the meaning. If I have chosen to get my temper on and blaming those who couldn't help, I might spoil my own day. Luckily today is calm and lovely day. Thanks God and your messenger for leading me a fruitful day, I truly learn a lot. Not the least, special thanks to Encik Farhan as well!

Cooking! No kidding XD

Since there are some tomatoes, carrots and abalone mushroom left inside the fridge, I decided to cook, all by myself. Haha, being seldom cook without my sister's assistance, today is quite special, more freedom to be the chef in the kitchen, though worrying bout the procedure and end results as I am not a good cook.

Supplement with cabbage, anchovies and vermicelli bought from the Indian grocery shop and some fish ball +fish cake+crab stick from stall, my menu would be the healthy veggie soup meehoon with my lovely fish ball+cake+crab stick... my dinner name seems a little bit long...but who care, believe I'll love it XD. Coz now it taste superb even without any salt!!!

Soup is boiling... gotta get ready for my meal!!! tata~

Rain

Probably have been praying too hard for rain to cool down the extremely hot weather. Finally, torrential downfall at KL in this evening. Haha...unlucky me to be in the way back home, crossing road with my lil umbrella. Eventually, all wet. Even you have a big umbrella in hand, I believe that rain brought by the strong wind blowing in no way could just get to wet you thoroughly.

Share some photos of raining here, hope it cools down you too...

Rain rain rain... the sky is blur blur

The rainwater downpipe breaks due to the heavy force of rain?!!
